PA and Administrative Assistant

St Michael’s Chester Square is looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to join their vibrant office team as Personal Assistant to the Vicar & Office Administrative Assistant. We are a lively, all-age, cosmopolitan church in the heart of London, with Sunday Services each week at 10.30am and 6pm, a multitude of midweek groups, and a busy calendar of events throughout the year.

The PA & Administrative Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of daily church life particularly in the church office. He or she will work closely with the Vicar, Operations Manager and Events Manager to ensure that all administrative tasks are well managed and completed in good time, and that incoming enquiries and bookings are dealt with promptly.

Key responsibilities will include: assisting the vicar with administrative tasks such as fielding telephone calls, diary management, and preparation of documents; dealing with enquiries to the church office; keeping the church diary and filing systems up to date; helping to manage internal church events; printing and distribution of publicity materials; monitoring stock levels and arranging deliveries.

The successful candidate will be a hardworking and efficient administrator with a particular eye for detail and excellent inter-personal skills. S/he will be computer literate and well-versed in using Microsoft Office and other similar softwares. Desirable skills include adaptability to new challenges, a high level of organisation and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Ministry Trainee  Scheme 2019 

The scheme runs for two years (with the possibility of a third year for those actively pursuing ordination) and is roughly divided into three equal parts: Biblical and Theological Training; Ministry Training and Experience; Training and Involvement in Practical Service.

Appropriate computer-based training on the use of the database, spreadsheets, desktop publishing,  word-processing is available.  All Ministry Trainees receive audio visual training, health and safety training including Child Protection, and familiarization with St Michael’s Health and Safety policy.
